Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Ati
Chairman of the National Committee for Artificial Intelligence

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Ati currently serves as Dean of Ahlia University of Bahrain, Kingdom of Bahrain, and Chairman of the National Committee for Artificial Intelligence in the Arab Republic of Egypt. He is also Vice President of the African Mathematical Union and Vice President of the Egyptian Mathematical Society. In addition, he serves as Dean of the University of Applied Sciences for Scientific Research and Graduate Studies in Bahrain. Previously, he held the position of Vice President of the African Academy of Sciences.

He earned his Ph.D. in Quantum Computing from the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Computing in Germany in 1999. In recognition of his outstanding scientific contributions, he was awarded the Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree in 2007 and the Honorary Doctor of Science (H.D.Sc.) degree in 2024.

His research interests focus on Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Neural Networks, and Quantum Secure Information Transfer Models. He has an outstanding scientific publication record, with more than 350 research papers, 19 book chapters, and four published books. He also holds several patents, including a number of patents registered in the United States of America.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Ati has received numerous prestigious awards, including the State Appreciation Award, the State Award for Excellence, the State Encouragement Award, the Chen Xingshao Award (China), the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award (Jordan), the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Award (United Arab Emirates), the Amin Lotfy Award, the Faiza Al‑Kharafi Award, and the Third World Academy of Sciences Award, among many others.
