The Third Session of the Faculty Council of Artificial Intelligence and Information at Horus University

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, with the honor of Prof. Dr. El-Sayed Abdel Hady, President of the University, and led by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aal, Vice President of the University, the third session of the Faculty Council of Artificial Intelligence and Information was held today, chaired by Prof. Dr. Hossam El-Din Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty. The council included Eng. Shaimaa El-Seddik, Deputy Governor of Damietta; Eng. Ibrahim Hassanein, Head of the Engineers Syndicate in Dakahlia; Prof. Dr. Emad Abdel Rahman, Head of the Computer Department at the National Telecommunications Institute; and the heads of academic departments.

Prof. Dr. Hossam El-Din Mostafa opened the session by welcoming the attendees and reviewing the most important activities and achievements of the past month, emphasizing the strengthening of cooperation between Damietta Governorate and Horus University. The council discussed ways to support digital transformation and sustainability efforts within the governorate and explored new horizons for technological and research partnerships.

The Dean also highlighted several technical updates at the Faculty, including:

  • Launching the official website of the Faculty in Arabic and English, with work underway on a French version.
  • Establishing the university’s first student team and robotics club (IRIS).

The meeting then moved to the agenda, followed by honoring assistant staff members who participated in the Invidia course at the Information Technology Institute (ITI), as well as recognizing the top five students in each program.

In conclusion, all council members stressed the importance of integrating efforts between the Faculty, the governorate, and community stakeholders to support Egypt’s Digital Vision and enhance the role of technology in serving society.
